Pneumatic Strapping Tools are needed when production needs require quicker strap application than can be done with manual strapping tools. Using pneumatic strapping tools require the availability of compressed air for powering the tools at the application site.  The strap application is much quicker and more uniform than when the strapping is manually applied.  Pneumatic Strapping Tools also enable applying higher tension to strap than do most manual strapping tools.

Pneumatic Strapping Tools are of different design to accomodate different application needs.

Pneumatic Tensioners are used for tensioning only.  They are most commonly Pusher Tensioners with feedwheel take up and require the use of closed seals (overlap seals).  Sealing the seal can be done with a manual sealer or a Pneumatic Sealer. Pneumatic windlass tensioners are used when high tension is required by the application and efficiencies are needed that manual tensioning cannot offer.

Pneumatic Sealers are often called "pistol gripped sealers." They are used to notch the seal after tensioning.  Use involves a single hand operation positioning the sealer over the seal and pulling a trigger to activate the sealing mechanism.

Pneumatic Combination Tools offer the owner the benefits of tensioning and sealing with the same tool.  These tools usually have two buttons-- one for tensioning and the other for sealing.  Tension levels can be adjusted to the desired level.  Pneumatic Combination Tools are often Pneumatic Sealess Combination Tools--eliminating the cost of seals.
